Sur scène, le souvenir de Xynthia, la tempête meurtrière de l’hiver 2010, croise le texte d’Henrik Ibsen, Un ennemi du peuple, publié en 1893, récit de l’ostracisation d’un lanceur d’alerte, médecin dénonçant la qualité des eaux dans une ville thermale. « Le rapprochement entre les deux récits est assez troublant » souligne le compositeur Thomas Nguyen, qui a voulu replacer Xynthia dans l’histoire de notre rapport à l’eau, de son apparition à nos jours. Une musique « assez rock, organique », jouée par un ensemble aux registres étonnants (Fender Rhodes, ondes Martenot, Cristal Baschet, percussions, harpe, clarinette et sons électroniques), s’intègre à la mise en scène de Mikaël Serre, aux côtés d’un quatuor vocal, d’une comédienne et d’un danseur.
