Il vient d’être nommé à la tête de l’Orchestre Philharmonique de Monte-Carlo où il succède à Marek Janowski. Né à Saint-Pétersbourg, Yakov Kreizberg est un chef peu connu du public français. Il a pourtant acquis une belle aura dans la musique symphonique en étant depuis 2003 le patron de l’Orchestre Philharmonique des Pays-Bas, et dans le répertoire lyrique grâce à son poste de directeur musical du Komische Oper de Berlin de 1994 à 2001. Pour sa venue à la tête de l’Orchestre National de France, il dirigera la très démonstrative Ouverture Carnaval de Dvorak, le Concerto pour violon n°2 de Prokofiev (avec en soliste, l’archet racé et intelligent de Viktoria Mullova) et la rare Symphonie n°2 de Rachmaninov. Un programme parfait pour mesurer le talent de ce chef, dont le frère aîné n’est autre que Semyon Bychkov, l’ancien directeur musical de l’Orchestre de Paris.
