Tous les lundis et mardis, le club présente — en entrée libre — de jeunes musiciens en pleine ascension, et leur offre la possibilité de jouer plusieurs mois de suite. Yessaï Karapetian en fait partie qui, après un premier passage en janvier, s’y produit le 15 février avant de revenir en mars. Le pianiste a déjà quelques références à son actif, s’étant notamment fait connaitre avec le groupe électro-funk One Foot, qui accéda aux médailles d’argent des tremplins de La Défense et de Jazz à Vienne. On l’a depuis repéré aux claviers derrière la sax bomb Guillaume Perret. Entre « Leçon de ténèbres » et « Invisible Moon », son premier opus, placé sobrement sous son seul prénom, ne brille pas par sa lumière mais l’on y retrouve une virtuosité teintée d’une mélancolie obscure qui rappelle à certains égards Tigran Hamasyan, avec qui il ne partage pas seulement des origines arméniennes. Avec à ses côtés deux valeurs montantes de la nouvelle scène du jazz, Pierre-Marie Lapprand, sax du groupe Chrones, et Gabriel Gosse, guitariste repéré par Christian Scott, Yessaï n’en est plus au stade des promesses. Il les concrétise sur scène.
