THEATRE DES CHAMPS ELYSEES / PIANO ET ORCHESTRE
Les deux artistes réunis pour ce programme consacré à Haydn, Rachmaninov et Tchaïkovski comptent parmi les jeunes étoiles surgies sur la scène classique internationale depuis moins de dix ans. La jeune pianiste chinoise Yuja Wang, star de YouTube, joue avec son indéfectible brio une partition qui lui va à merveille, le très jazzy Quatrième Concerto de Rachmaninov. Auprès d’elle, le chef québécois Yannick Nézet-Séguin, ce jeune et grand chef à qui tout réussit, dirige la Symphonie n° 49 « La Passione » de Haydn et la Symphonie n° 4 de Tchaïkovski. En poste à la tête de l’Orchestre philharmonique de Rotterdam depuis 2006, Yannick Nézet-Séguin, qui assume aussi la direction musicale du Philadelphia Orchestra depuis 2012, s’apprête à franchir un nouveau cap éminemment prestigieux de sa carrière en prenant les commandes du Metropolitan Opera de New York, suite au récent départ de James Levine, accusé de harcèlement et d’agressions sexuelles.
