Né au Liban en 1967, Zad Moultaka interroge, à travers son écriture musicale, les drames de son pays. Une démarche souvent bouleversante, qui rappelle combien les notes peuvent faire écho de manière saisissante aux bruits des armes. Sa dernière pièce, L’Autre Rive, s’intéresse plus particulièrement à la notion de frontière. Présentée cet été au Festival d’Avignon, cette partition fait appel à douze chanteurs et quatre instrumentistes. Ce sont les ensembles Musicatreize et Mezwej qui l’interprètent sous la direction de Roland Hayrabedian. Rappelons que L’Autre Rive vient conclure la résidence particulièrement riche de Zad Moultaka à l’Abbaye de Royaumont.
