La rentrée a mis la discrète pianiste Zhu Xiao Mei sous les feux de l’actualité. Son autobiographie La Rivière et son secret (Robert Laffont) est parue alors que ressortait son enregistrement des Variations Goldberg (Mirare). Ceci n’est pas une simple coïncidence puisque le livre adopte la même structure que la partition de Bach. Mais surtout, à travers la description de la trajectoire de cette enfant de Shangaï, passée par les camps de travail avant de s’exiler aux Etats-Unis puis en France, on comprend mieux la démarche artistique de la musicienne, profondément touchante. A la Cité de la musique, elle interprète une autre pièce majeure de Bach : le Livre II du Clavier bien tempéré. On peut déjà prédire que le jeu sincère de Zhu Xiao Mei transcendera l’écriture abstraite de l’œuvre pour en communiquer l’émotion la plus fragile.
