Choisir, enfiler, superposer, ôter des vêtements. C’est au cœur de ces gestes à la fois intimes et universellement partagés que Marie Doiret et Emilie Buestel traquent ce qui fonde les états, les humeurs, la personnalité des deux femmes qu’elles mettent en scène. Car le rapport au vêtement est loin d’être anodin. Il enveloppe et protège notre peau ; simultanément, il façonne notre silhouette et l’image que nous donnons de nous-mêmes. Mais il est aussi fait de fibres dans lesquelles s’impriment les formes du corps, sa posture et, par-delà, les émotions de celui qui les porte – ou qui les a portés, puisque le vêtement peut aussi être transmis ou reçu. C’est cet ensemble de processus qu’explore Zone de confort : les deux personnages traversent un ensemble d’héritages et de transmissions, d’échanges et de rejets. Marie Doiret et Emilie Buestel, de façon fine et délicate, renvoient ainsi chacun de nous à ses voyages intérieurs : s’habiller est une façon de se construire et de se (ré)inventer.
